Spooky Halloween Cookies featuring "Blood of My Enemies" (Blood Orange Olive Oil)

Orange Olive Oil Sugar Cookies (Dairy-free)

Trick or treat, we’ve got something good to eat! Made using our delicious Blood Orange Olive Oil aka: "Blood Of My Enemies" from our special Halloween Collection! This cookie recipe uses fun pumpkin shapes, and is a great project for beginning bakers and decorators.

Servings: 24 cookies
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 25 minutes

Ingredients:

2 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup Wild Groves Blood Orange olive oil
1/4 cup cinnamon apple sauce
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Optional - coarse sugar to roll the dough in before baking

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

In a large bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt together with a fork.
In another bowl, mix the olive oil, sugar, egg, apple sauce and vanilla with a hand held mixer.
Pour half of the dry ingredients into the bowl of the wet ingredients and mix with your hand-held mixer. Add the other half of the dry ingredients and mix again. You may need to scrape the sides of the bowl as you do this.
Using a small cookie scoop, or a spoon, scoop out 1 Tbs sized balls of the dough and place on a cookie sheet.  Then form into pumpkin shapes, or other fun Halloween figures :)
